Good first box deal

I was looking for a way to eat healthier without spending a ton. I got 40% off my first Hungryroot box, plus free veggies, which felt like a really good deal. The almond chickpea cookie dough was a nice treat. For the price I paid, it was definitely worth trying out.

Easy meals, made life simpler

Decided to try Hungryroot because my friend kept raving about it. I got the breakfast tacos and some chicken breast. Everything came nicely packed, and the chicken was really good quality. It was nice not having to think about what to cook for a few days, and the recipes were pretty straightforward. The quiz at the start helped them pick stuff I'd actually eat, which was cool. It just made my week a little easier overall.

Decent service, minor hiccup

My first Hungryroot delivery arrived mostly on time, just a day later than the initial estimate, but everything was still cold and fresh. I picked out some pre-cut vegetables and the lentil pasta, which made dinner super easy after work. The quality of the produce was good. My only small complaint is that the '10-minute recipes' sometimes took me a bit longer than that to actually put together. Still, a solid option for healthy groceries delivered, and I liked being able to skip a week easily.

Anyone know if Hungryroot does discounts for returning customers? I tried them like a year ago but cancelled, thinking of coming back.

S Sam Taylor 2 weeks ago
Yeah they totally do! I got an email offer a while back for reactivating my account, like 30% off or something. Keep an eye out.

I think I saw something about that too. They want you back, so they usually throw some kind of deal your way. Worth checking your old emails or just signing up again with a new email if you're really desperate for the new customer discount, lol.

Just completed the quiz, and it's asking for a promo code. Are there any good first-time user discounts floating around right now for like 30% off or something?

M Michelle Lee 1 month ago
Usually, there's always a new customer deal, like 30-40% off your first box plus some free gift. I'd check RetailMeNot or just google 'Hungryroot first box discount' – usually pops right up.

Yep, they almost always have a deal for newbies. I got a percentage off and 'free veggies for life' which is kinda cool. Don't check out without finding one!

How much freedom do you get with what's in your box? Can I swap out stuff I really don't like, or is it mostly just whatever they pick for you?

I Ian T. 1 month ago
You can totally customize! After you do the quiz, they suggest stuff but you can go in and swap out anything you don't want. It's not like you're stuck with their picks.

Yeah, it's pretty flexible. You can even add extra items if you need more of something, or change the recipes they recommend. It's not just a set meal kit, you build your own groceries basically.

Hey guys, thinking of trying Hungryroot. How fresh are the veggies when they arrive? Like, will they last me the whole week?

J Jacob Gomez 1 month ago
Mine usually come super cold and packaged well. I've had stuff last a week or more for sure, especially the harder veggies.

Depends on the veggie honestly. Leafy greens sometimes are a bit iffy by day 5, but everything else holds up pretty good. Just gotta eat those quicker.

Is Hungryroot actually that different from something like HelloFresh? Like, what's the main vibe?

J James Carter 2 weeks ago
Huge difference! HelloFresh is all about the specific meal kits with exact ingredients. Hungryroot is more like a smart grocery delivery service with recipe suggestions. You get bigger containers of stuff you can use for multiple meals, not just one.

Yeah, if you like having ingredients to mix and match rather than strict recipes, Hungryroot is better. It's less 'meal kit' and more 'groceries for easy meals'.
